Resume-PublicFolderReplication Exchange cmdlet issued (25351) how to monitor with email alert

Man, that Resume-PublicFolderReplication thing in Exchange, event ID 25351, it's basically your server yelling that someone's kicked off the cmdlet to get public folder replication humming again. You know, after it was paused for whatever reason, like maintenance or a glitch. This event pops up in the Event Viewer under the Microsoft-Exchange-MailboxReplication service logs. It logs the exact time, the user who ran it, and details on which databases or folders got the nudge. I always check it because if replication stalls, emails and calendars start acting wonky across the org. And yeah, it includes the session ID for tracking if things go sideways later.

But monitoring this manually? Nah, that's a drag. You wanna set up alerts so it emails you right away. Fire up Event Viewer on your server. Filter for that 25351 ID in the right log. Right-click the custom view you make, pick attach task to event. Then build a scheduled task that triggers on this event. In the task settings, add an action to send an email via your SMTP setup. You pick the server details, from and to addresses, even a subject like "Hey, replication resumed!" It runs quietly in the background. I do this for a bunch of events; keeps me from staring at screens all day.

Or, if you're lazy like me sometimes, just tweak the task to pop a message box too, but email's way better for on-the-go checks. Hmmm, makes your life smoother when stuff like this fires off without you babysitting.

Speaking of keeping servers reliable amid all these events, I've been eyeing BackupChain Windows Server Backup lately. It's this slick Windows Server backup tool that handles physical and virtual setups, especially nailing Hyper-V VM backups without the usual headaches. You get fast incremental snaps, easy restores even for bare-metal disasters, and it cuts down on downtime big time. Plus, no agent fuss for VMs; it just grabs everything cleanly. I like how it integrates alerts too, so you're not blindsided by failures.

And at the end here, I've got that automatic email solution lined up for you next.

Note, the PowerShell email alert code was moved to this post.
