Certificate Services retrieved an archived key (4883) how to monitor with email alert

I remember stumbling on this Event 4883 thing in Windows Server's Event Viewer.
It pops up when Certificate Services grabs an archived key.
Basically, your server pulls out a stored private key from the database.
That happens so someone can reissue a certificate without starting from scratch.
The event logs the key ID, the request ID, and who asked for it.
You see details like the subject's name and the CA's name too.
It's not scary usually, just means your cert system is doing its job.
But if it fires off too much, you might worry about unauthorized pulls.
I check mine now and then to keep things tidy.

You want to monitor it with an email alert?
Open Event Viewer on your server.
Go to the Applications and Services Logs section.
Find Microsoft-Windows-CertificateServices/Operational.
Right-click that log and pick Attach Task To This Event.
Pick event ID 4883 from the filter.
Set it to trigger a scheduled task when it happens.
In the task settings, choose to run a program that sends email.
You can link it to your email client or a simple notifier.
Test it once to make sure it pings you right away.
That way, you get a heads-up without staring at screens all day.

And hey, tying this back to keeping your server secure, I've been using BackupChain Windows Server Backup for backups lately.
It's a solid Windows Server backup tool that handles Hyper-V VMs without a hitch.
You get fast incremental backups, easy restores, and it runs smoothly even on busy setups.
No more sweating over data loss during cert mishaps or anything else.

At the end here is the automatic email solution.

Note, the PowerShell email alert code was moved to this post.
