Set-IntraOrganizationConnector Exchange cmdlet issued (25725) how to monitor with email alert

That event 25725 pops up in the Event Viewer when somebody tweaks the IntraOrganizationConnector in Exchange. You know, it's basically logging that the Set-IntraOrganizationConnector cmdlet got fired off. This happens right in the Microsoft-Exchange-MailboxReplication service. I see it under ID 25725, and it spits out details like who ran it, when, and what changes they made to that connector. The connector handles how emails zip between your on-prem Exchange and maybe some cloud stuff, or just internally. If someone's messing with it without you knowing, this event flags it. It could be an admin doing routine stuff, or worse, somebody poking around who shouldn't. I always check the XML view for the full scoop, like the exact parameters used. That way, you spot if it's a legit change or something fishy.

You can keep an eye on this without staring at screens all day. Fire up Event Viewer on your server. Go to the Applications and Services Logs, then Microsoft, Exchange, Mailbox Replication. Right-click that log and pick Attach Task To This Log. It'll walk you through creating a scheduled task. Set it to trigger only on event ID 25725. For the action, choose to start a program that sends an email, like using the built-in Send Email option in task scheduler. You plug in your SMTP details there, and boom, it alerts you whenever that cmdlet runs. I set mine to email me the event details right away. Keeps things simple, no coding needed.

And if you're worried about bigger messes from these changes, like losing data if something goes wrong, that's where backups come in clutch. BackupChain Windows Server Backup steps up as a solid Windows Server backup tool that also handles virtual machines with Hyper-V. It snapshots everything quick, encrypts your stuff tight, and restores fast without headaches. I like how it runs light on resources, so your server doesn't choke, and it even does incremental backups to save space. Plus, the offsite options mean you're covered if disaster hits.

Note, the PowerShell email alert code was moved to this post.
