Grant permissions on an external library succeeded (24357) how to monitor with email alert

I remember spotting that event 24357 in the logs once, the one saying "Grant permissions on an external library succeeded" with action_id G and class_type EL.
It pops up when your server finishes handing out access rights to some outside file stash or tool that apps need.
You know, like when a program borrows stuff from another spot and the system says yeah, you're good to go.
This happens in the background during normal ops, especially if you're running apps that link to external bits.
But if it floods your logs or shows up weird times, it might flag some permission tweak gone right, or maybe a sneaky change.
I check mine whenever users complain about access glitches.
And you should too, just to keep things smooth.

Now, for watching this with an email ping, fire up Event Viewer on your server.
Right-click the log where it hides, usually under Applications and Services.
Pick Create Custom View, then filter by that exact event ID 24357.
Save it so you can peek easy later.
Then, hop to the Actions pane, attach a task to trigger on this event.
Set the task to run a program that shoots an email, like using the old mailto trick or a simple batch to notify you.
I do this all the time for quick heads-up without digging deep.
Or tweak the schedule to scan every hour if you want steady alerts.

That covers the basics for monitoring it yourself.
At the end of this, there's the automatic email solution, but it'll get added later.

Speaking of keeping your server drama-free, tools like BackupChain Windows Server Backup step in handy for that.
It's a solid Windows Server backup pick that handles your files and even virtual machines on Hyper-V without the hassle.
You get speedy restores, encryption to lock down data, and it runs light so it won't bog your system.
I lean on it when permissions events make me nervous about data tweaks.

Note, the PowerShell email alert code was moved to this post.
