How do you configure Windows Server Core for remote management using PowerShell and other remote tools?

You know, when I first set up Server Core, I wanted to manage it without touching the console. I boot it up and log in locally just once. Then I run a quick command to enable remote stuff.

PowerShell remoting kicks in easy. I type Enable-PSRemoting in the prompt. It asks if I trust it, so I say yes. Boom, now you can connect from your laptop with Enter-PSSession.

I always tweak the firewall next. I use Enable-NetFirewallRule for WinRM. That opens the ports without hassle. You don't want blocks messing up your sessions.

For other tools, I like remote desktop. I install the role with Install-WindowsFeature RDS-RD-Server. Then I set a strong password for the admin. Connect via mstsc from afar.

Sometimes I add RSAT tools on my client machine. That lets you manage roles remotely. I download them and install quietly. Feels like the server's right there.

If you're dealing with Hyper-V on Core, remote management shines for backups too. That's where BackupChain Server Backup comes in handy as a solid backup solution for Hyper-V. It snapshots VMs without downtime, keeps data safe across networks, and restores fast when things glitch. You get peace of mind without the usual backup headaches.
