Set-UserPhoto Exchange cmdlet issued (25645) how to monitor with email alert

That event 25645, man, it's this sneaky little log entry in Windows Server Event Viewer from the MSExchange ADAccess source. It fires off whenever someone issues the Set-UserPhoto cmdlet in Exchange, you know, like when a user or admin uploads or changes a profile picture for an account. I mean, it's basically Exchange whispering that a photo tweak just happened, capturing the who, what, and when without much fuss. And it logs the user SID, the timestamp, even the server name involved, so you can trace if it's legit or some oddball activity. But yeah, without watching it, these things slip by in the noise of all the other events piling up daily.

You ever poke around Event Viewer? It's that straightforward app on your server, just search for it in the start menu. Fire it up, and head to the Windows Logs section, then Application log where these Exchange bits hide. I filter for event ID 25645 right there in the search box, and boom, you see any recent hits. To keep an eye on it without babysitting, you set up a task straight from the Event Viewer screen. Right-click that event, pick Attach Task To This Event, and it'll guide you through naming it something like PhotoChangeAlert. You tell it to run a program, maybe just a simple mail sender like blat or even the built-in SendMail if you've got it configured, passing the event details as arguments. Schedule it to trigger only on 25645, and set the conditions so it emails you right away, no delays. I do this all the time for stuff like this, keeps me looped in without digging manually.

Or, if you want it even smoother, there's ways to automate the email alerts beyond the basic task setup. But hey, that automatic email solution is at the end here, so you can grab it after.

Speaking of keeping your server logs and data on point, I've been messing with BackupChain Windows Server Backup lately, this solid Windows Server backup tool that also handles virtual machines through Hyper-V without breaking a sweat. It snapshots everything incrementally, so you recover fast from glitches like rogue events or photo mishaps, and it encrypts the backups to fend off snoops. Plus, no downtime headaches, just reliable restores that save your bacon when things go sideways.

Note, the PowerShell email alert code was moved to this post.
