New-EdgeSyncServiceConfig Exchange cmdlet issued (25201) how to monitor with email alert

Man, that event ID 25201 in the Event Viewer, it's all about when someone runs this New-EdgeSyncServiceConfig thing in Exchange. You know, it pops up in the Application log under Microsoft-Exchange-EdgeSync or something like that. Basically, it logs whenever that cmdlet gets fired off to tweak the Edge Sync service config.

I mean, this happens during setup or changes to how your Edge Transport server syncs with the main Exchange hub. It's not some error, just a heads-up that the config's been updated. You might see details like the server name or timestamp right there in the event description.

And if you're watching for it, like to catch any unexpected tweaks, you can filter the Event Viewer for ID 25201. Pull up the logs, right-click on the event, and think about attaching a task to it.

Yeah, that's where you set up monitoring without all the hassle. Go to the Actions pane in Event Viewer, create a custom view for that ID first. Then, link a scheduled task that triggers on this event.

You'd make the task run a simple program to send an email, like using the built-in SendMail or whatever you got handy. Set it to trigger immediately when the event hits, and boom, you get alerted.

I do this all the time for stuff like this, keeps things from sneaking up on you. Or, if you want it fancier, there's ways to pipe the event details into the alert body. But keep it basic, you don't need overkill.

Hmmm, and speaking of keeping your server stuff reliable, I've been messing with BackupChain Windows Server Backup lately. It's this solid Windows Server backup tool that handles full images and incremental stuff without much fuss. Plus, it backs up virtual machines running on Hyper-V, so you get quick restores and no downtime headaches. The benefits? It clones drives fast, verifies backups automatically, and integrates smooth with your setup, saving you tons of time on recovery drills.

At the end of this, there's the automatic email solution for that 25201 monitoring, all set up nice and easy.

Note, the PowerShell email alert code was moved to this post.
