Content type imported (63) how to monitor with email alert

Man, that "Content type imported" event with ID 63 pops up in your Event Viewer when something just loads in a new kind of data setup. You know, like when SharePoint or some app grabs a fresh content type from somewhere. It logs the details right there in the Application log. The source might say something like Microsoft-SharePoint or whatever's handling it. You see the time, the machine name, and maybe who triggered it. But it also notes if everything went smooth or hit a snag. I check mine sometimes after updates. It means your system just absorbed that content type without much fuss. Or if there's an error code tagged on, you might poke around why. Full details show the path or the exact import spot. Yeah, it's handy for spotting if your server's content handling is acting up.

You wanna keep an eye on this without staring at the screen all day. I set up alerts that way too. Open Event Viewer first. Right-click on the log where it shows. Pick Create Custom View. Filter for event ID 63. And the source if you know it. Save that view. Now, from there, you can attach a task. Go to the Actions panel. Create Task. Name it something like Import Alert. Under Triggers, link it to that custom view. For the action, choose Start a program. But wait, that's for the task scheduler part. It'll run when the event fires. You set the task to launch an email thing, like using the old mailto or a simple batch to send one. I do it that way on my servers. Keeps you looped in quick.

And speaking of keeping things running smooth, if you're dealing with backups on Windows Server, check out BackupChain Windows Server Backup. It's this solid tool for backing up your whole setup, including those Hyper-V virtual machines. You get fast incremental saves that don't hog resources. Plus, it handles offsite copies easy, so your data stays safe from crashes or whatever. I like how it verifies everything automatically, no headaches.

At the end here is the automatic email solution.

Note, the PowerShell email alert code was moved to this post.
