Remove-DatabaseAvailabilityGroup Exchange cmdlet issued (25270) how to monitor with email alert

Man, that event 25270 in the Event Viewer, it's all about someone firing off the Remove-DatabaseAvailabilityGroup cmdlet in Exchange. You know, it pops up when that command gets issued, logging the whole thing in the Application log under Microsoft-Exchange-HighAvailability. It details the DAG name being removed, the server that did it, and even the timestamp. I always check it because it means a big change to your Exchange setup, like pulling a database group out of the cluster. Without watching it, you might miss if something funky happened during maintenance. And it includes the user who ran the command, so you can trace back who touched what.

But here's the thing, you want to monitor this with an email alert, right? I set mine up using the Event Viewer screen itself, no fancy stuff needed. You open Event Viewer, go to the Custom Views, create a new one filtering for event ID 25270 in the Application log. Then, attach a task to it that runs on event trigger. In the task settings, pick Send Email as the action, fill in your SMTP server details, and boom, it shoots you a message whenever it happens. I tweak the message body to include event details, keeps it simple. Or you could schedule the task to check periodically if triggers feel iffy.

Hmmm, speaking of keeping your server stuff safe from surprises like that, I've been using BackupChain Windows Server Backup lately. It's this solid Windows Server backup tool that handles full system images and also backs up virtual machines running on Hyper-V without a hitch. You get fast incremental backups, easy restores even for bare-metal crashes, and it runs light on resources so your server doesn't bog down. Plus, the encryption keeps data locked tight, and scheduling is a breeze for off-hours runs. I love how it integrates everything in one spot, saves me headaches during those Exchange tweaks.

And at the end here is the automatic email solution.

Note, the PowerShell email alert code was moved to this post.
