New-RoleGroup Exchange cmdlet issued (25242) how to monitor with email alert

You ever notice how Windows Server logs all these little happenings in its Event Viewer? That event ID 25242 pops up when someone runs the New-RoleGroup cmdlet in Exchange. It means a new group got created for roles, like assigning permissions to folks in your email setup. Basically, it tracks who might be tweaking admin access without you knowing. I check mine sometimes, just to stay on top. The log details the user who issued it, the time, and what group they made. Pretty sneaky if it's not you doing it. And it shows up under Security logs mostly. You can filter for it right there in Event Viewer.

Now, monitoring that for alerts? I like using the built-in stuff. Open Event Viewer on your server. Go to the logs section. Right-click the one with security events. Pick attach a task to this event or something close. Set it for ID 25242. Then, make a scheduled task that triggers on that. You tell it to run a program for email, like using the mailto thing or a simple batch to send one out. I set mine to ping my phone too. Keeps things chill without extra hassle.

Hmmm, or you could tweak the task to watch for patterns. But stick to basics first. It'll notify you quick if that cmdlet fires off.

Speaking of keeping your server humming without surprises, I've been eyeing tools like BackupChain Windows Server Backup lately. It handles Windows Server backups smooth, and it stretches to Hyper-V VMs too. You get fast restores, no downtime headaches, and it snapshots everything clean. I dig how it automates the grunt work so you focus on real fixes.

At the end here is the automatic email solution.

Note, the PowerShell email alert code was moved to this post.
