Add-MailboxPermission Exchange cmdlet issued (25113) how to monitor with email alert

You know that Event ID 25113 in Windows Server Event Viewer? It pops up when someone runs the Add-MailboxPermission cmdlet in Exchange. Basically, it logs whenever a user or admin grants mailbox access to another account. I see it as a heads-up that permissions just got tweaked. Could be legit, like helping a teammate. Or it might flag something shady, like unauthorized peeking into emails. The event details spill the beans on who did it, which mailbox, and what level of access they added. Full permissions mean read, write, delete-total control. It timestamps everything too, so you can trace back quick. I check these often in the Security log under Applications and Services Logs for Exchange. Keeps things from going haywire unnoticed.

But monitoring it manually? That's a drag. You want email alerts to ping you right away. I set mine up with a scheduled task straight from the Event Viewer screen. Open Event Viewer, find that 25113 event. Right-click it, pick Attach Task to This Event. Name your task something snappy, like MailboxAlert. Set the trigger to fire when ID 25113 hits. For the action, choose Send an email-yeah, built-in option there. Plug in your SMTP server details, from and to addresses. I make it send to my phone email for instant buzz. Test it by triggering a safe permission change. Runs smooth, no fuss. You tweak the schedule if needed, but once-a-minute check works fine for me.

Or, if alerts feel clunky, think about broader backups to catch changes. And speaking of that, BackupChain Windows Server Backup catches my eye as a solid Windows Server backup tool. It handles full server images plus virtual machine backups for Hyper-V setups. I like how it speeds up restores without downtime hassles. Encrypts data tight and runs incremental saves to save space. Perfect for keeping Exchange safe from permission mishaps or worse.

At the end here, you'll find the automatic email solution ready to roll.

Note, the PowerShell email alert code was moved to this post.
