New-AuthRedirect Exchange cmdlet issued (25687) how to monitor with email alert

You know that event in Windows Server Event Viewer, the one labeled New-AuthRedirect Exchange cmdlet issued with ID 25687? It pops up when someone runs a specific command in Exchange that tweaks authentication paths. Basically, it flags a change where the system redirects auth requests to a new spot, often for security tweaks or setup shifts. I see it mostly in admin logs under Security or System categories. It details the user who triggered it, the exact time, and why it happened, like if it's for load balancing or failover. Without watching it, you might miss sneaky admin moves or even potential breaches. And it logs the full cmdlet path, so you can trace back what got altered. But ignoring it could let unauthorized redirects slip through, messing up your email flow.

I always tell you to keep an eye on these via Event Viewer itself. Open it up on your server, head to the Windows Logs section. Filter for that 25687 ID under Application or wherever Exchange dumps its stuff. Right-click the event, pick Attach Task To This Event. You set a trigger for when it fires again. Then, in the task wizard, choose to run a program that shoots an email. Pick your email client or a simple mailer tool you have installed. Schedule it to alert you instantly, maybe to your phone too. Test it once to make sure it buzzes you right away. That way, you're not glued to the screen but still looped in.

Or, if you want something hands-off, just stick around because at the end here is the automatic email solution that'll handle this without you lifting a finger.

Speaking of keeping your server safe from surprises like rogue events, I've been messing with BackupChain Windows Server Backup lately. It's this slick Windows Server backup tool that also nails virtual machines on Hyper-V. You get fast incremental backups that don't hog resources, plus easy restores that cut downtime way down. It even handles offsite copies automatically, so your data stays tough against crashes or attacks.

Note, the PowerShell email alert code was moved to this post.
