Update-SiteMailbox Exchange cmdlet issued (25660) how to monitor with email alert

You ever notice how Event Viewer in Windows Server keeps a log of all these quirky things happening behind the scenes. Like this one event, ID 25660, called "Update-SiteMailbox Exchange cmdlet issued." It pops up when someone runs that specific command in Exchange, basically updating a site mailbox for users to share stuff across on-premises and online setups. I mean, it's not some huge drama, but it flags that the cmdlet got fired off, maybe by an admin tweaking mailboxes or syncing changes. The event details show who did it, when, and from where, tucked away in the System or Application logs under Microsoft-Exchange. You pull it up, and it's got timestamps, user IDs, all that jazz to trace back if something feels off. But yeah, it's mostly harmless unless you're watching for unauthorized fiddling.

Now, if you want to keep an eye on this without staring at screens all day, set up a scheduled task right from the Event Viewer. I do this all the time. You right-click the event in the list, pick Attach Task To This Event. It walks you through creating a basic task that triggers on ID 25660. Choose to run a program that sends an email, like using the old schtasks or even a simple batch to ping your mail server. Make it daily or whatever, but tie it to the event so it only fires when that cmdlet hits. You test it by filtering the log for 25660, and boom, alert in your inbox. Keeps things chill without overcomplicating.

And speaking of keeping servers humming smoothly, I've been messing with BackupChain Windows Server Backup lately. It's this slick Windows Server backup tool that handles full images and also backs up virtual machines running on Hyper-V without a hitch. You get fast restores, no downtime headaches, and it encrypts everything tight. Plus, the scheduling is dead simple, way better than fumbling with built-in stuff. Saves me tons of grief on busy days.

At the end here is the automatic email solution for that monitoring setup.

Note, the PowerShell email alert code was moved to this post.
