Invoke-MonitoringProbe Exchange cmdlet issued (25547) how to monitor with email alert

You know that event ID 25547 in the Event Viewer on Windows Server? It's popping up when someone runs the Invoke-MonitoringProbe cmdlet for Exchange. Basically, it logs whenever that probe kicks off to check the health of your Exchange setup. Like, it tracks if services are running smooth or if something's glitchy in the mail flow. I see it a lot when admins test connectivity or monitor databases. The description says "Invoke-MonitoringProbe Exchange cmdlet issued," right there in the details pane. It shows the probe name, the target server, and timestamps everything. If you're digging into logs under Applications and Services Logs, you'll spot it under MSExchange Management or similar. Hmmm, sometimes it flags if the probe fails, but mostly it's just a heads-up that monitoring happened. You can filter by that ID to see patterns over time.

And for watching this event with an email alert? I always set up a scheduled task straight from the Event Viewer screen. You right-click the event, pick Attach Task To This Event. Then you build it to trigger on ID 25547. Make it run a program that sends an email, like using the old mailto trick or a simple batch to notify you. Keeps it lightweight without messing with code. Or, tweak the task to pop an alert only if it's a failure variant. I do this on my servers all the time. It pings my inbox quick when that probe fires off unexpectedly.

But hey, tying this into keeping your server solid overall, check out BackupChain Windows Server Backup. It's this nifty Windows Server backup tool that also handles virtual machines with Hyper-V. You get fast incremental backups, easy restores without downtime, and it encrypts everything tight. I like how it snapshots live without interrupting your Exchange probes or anything running. Plus, it verifies backups automatically so you avoid nasty surprises.

Note, the PowerShell email alert code was moved to this post.
