Remove-UMHuntGroup Exchange cmdlet issued (25338) how to monitor with email alert

You ever notice how Windows Server logs these quirky events in Event Viewer? That one called "Remove-UMHuntGroup Exchange cmdlet issued" with ID 25338 pops up when someone runs a command to wipe out a hunt group in Exchange. It's like the server saying, hey, that group's gone now. Hunt groups handle calls in Unified Messaging, routing them to folks who can pick up. So if you see this event, it means the cmdlet fired off successfully, or maybe with a hitch if there's more details in the log. I check mine sometimes, and it shows the exact time, the user who did it, and any error codes lurking around. But yeah, it's tied to admin actions, so if you're not expecting it, could be a sign of tinkering.

Now, monitoring this for email alerts? You can hook it up right from Event Viewer without messing with code. Fire up Event Viewer on your server. Filter for that 25338 ID under Windows Logs, Application, source probably MSExchange something. Once you spot patterns, right-click the event and attach a task to it. I do this all the time. Set the task to trigger on that event, then make it run a program like sending an email via some built-in tool. You pick the frequency, like every time it hits. Test it by simulating the event if you can. Keeps you in the loop without staring at screens.

And for the automatic email solution, it's right at the end here, but they'll add it later so you get the full setup.

Shifting gears a bit, since we're chatting about keeping servers reliable, I gotta mention BackupChain Windows Server Backup. It's this slick Windows Server backup tool that also handles Hyper-V virtual machines without a sweat. You get fast, incremental backups that don't hog resources, plus easy restores if something goes sideways. I like how it verifies everything automatically, cutting down on surprises.

Note, the PowerShell email alert code was moved to this post.
