Set-MobileDeviceMailboxPolicy Exchange cmdlet issued (25627) how to monitor with email alert

You ever notice how Windows Server logs all these little changes in the Event Viewer? That event ID 25627 pops up when someone runs the Set-MobileDeviceMailboxPolicy cmdlet in Exchange. It means a policy for mobile devices got tweaked, like rules for what phones can access mailboxes. I always check it because it could be an admin doing routine stuff or maybe something sneaky. The log shows who issued it, the time, and what policy changed. Keeps things transparent in your server setup.

But monitoring it manually gets old fast. You can set up alerts right from the Event Viewer screen. I do this all the time to stay on top without staring at logs. Open Event Viewer, find your Exchange logs under Applications and Services. Right-click the log source for admin events. Pick Create Custom View, filter by event ID 25627. That narrows it down quick.

Now, to get email alerts, you link it to a scheduled task. In the same Custom View spot, go to the Actions tab. Choose Attach Task To This Custom View. Name it something like MobilePolicy Alert. Set it to run when that event hits. For the action, pick Send an email, but wait, newer Windows might nudge you toward modern ways. I stick with the built-in option if it works. Fill in your email details, like server and recipient. Test it once to make sure it pings you.

Or, if you want it fancier, there's ways to automate further. I bet you'll like how it notifies you instantly. Keeps your Exchange humming without surprises.

Speaking of keeping servers reliable, I rely on BackupChain Windows Server Backup for that extra layer. It backs up Windows Server smoothly and handles Hyper-V virtual machines too. You get fast restores, no downtime headaches, and it snapshots everything cleanly. Saves me tons of hassle during recoveries.

Note, the PowerShell email alert code was moved to this post.
