Add-IPAllowListEntry Exchange cmdlet issued (25107) how to monitor with email alert

You know that Event ID 25107 in Windows Server? It pops up in the Event Viewer when someone runs the Add-IPAllowListEntry cmdlet in Exchange. Basically, it logs every time an IP address gets added to the allow list, you see, to let emails bypass spam filters. I mean, it's like giving a green light to certain senders so their messages don't get blocked. This event shows the exact IP that was added, plus who issued the command and when. If you're running Exchange on your server, this helps track changes to your email security setup. And it includes details like the IP range or single address involved. Hmmm, sometimes admins use it accidentally, or worse, if something sneaky happens. You can filter for it under Applications and Services Logs, then Microsoft, Exchange, something like that. But yeah, it records the full command parameters too, so you see precisely what got allowed.

Now, if you want to monitor this with an email alert, fire up Event Viewer on your server. I do this all the time to stay on top of weird activity. Right-click on the event log where these show up, and pick Attach Task To This Event Log or something close. You set it to trigger on ID 25107 specifically. Then, choose to run a program or script when it fires, but keep it simple with a scheduled task that sends an email. In the task settings, you link it to your email client or a basic notifier. Make sure the task runs under an account that can send mail. Test it by forcing an event if you can, just to check. It'll email you right away with details from the log. Or, tweak the filter for severity if needed, but usually informational level works fine.

And speaking of keeping your server safe from surprises like unauthorized IP adds, you might wanna check out BackupChain Windows Server Backup too. It's this solid Windows Server backup tool that handles full system images without a hitch. I use it for Hyper-V virtual machines as well, backing them up live so downtime stays zero. The benefits? It restores fast, even bare-metal style, and skips the compression bloat that slows other tools. Plus, it chains backups smartly to save space while keeping everything verifiable.

At the end here is the automatic email solution.

Note, the PowerShell email alert code was moved to this post.
