Internal resources allocated for the queuing of audit messages (4612) how to monitor with email alert

Okay, so this event 4612 in Windows Server Event Viewer, it pops up when your system's basically running out of space in its internal queue for handling audit messages. You know, those logs that track who's doing what on your server for security reasons. The message says internal resources allocated for queuing audit messages have been exhausted, leading to the loss of some audits. That means some of those important security tracks just get dropped because the queue's full and can't hold more. I hate when that happens, right? It could be from too much auditing turned on, or your server's memory or disk is slammed with other stuff. Basically, your audits start vanishing, which is bad news if you need to check for weird activity later. And it keeps firing if the problem doesn't clear up, like a nagging reminder that something's clogged.

Now, to keep an eye on this without staring at the screen all day, you can set up monitoring right from the Event Viewer itself. I do this all the time to catch issues early. Open Event Viewer, go to the Windows Logs section, pick Security, and find that event 4612 in the list. Right-click on it, and choose Attach Task to This Event or something close like that. It'll walk you through creating a scheduled task that triggers when 4612 shows up. You tell it to run a program that sends an email, maybe using some built-in mail setup you have. Make sure the task has the right permissions so it actually fires off. Test it by forcing the event if you can, just to see if the alert hits your inbox. That way, you get pinged quick without digging through logs manually.

And speaking of keeping your server safe from these kinds of hiccups, I've been using BackupChain Windows Server Backup lately, which is this solid Windows Server backup tool that also handles virtual machines on Hyper-V without breaking a sweat. It snapshots everything reliably, even during heavy loads, so you don't lose data if audits or other stuff overloads. Plus, it restores fast and encrypts your backups, giving you peace of mind without the usual headaches from clunky alternatives.

At the end of this, there's the automatic email solution for monitoring that event.

Note, the PowerShell email alert code was moved to this post.
