Remove-AvailabilityReportOutage Exchange cmdlet issued (25267) how to monitor with email alert

You know that event in Windows Server Event Viewer, the one with ID 25267? It pops up when somebody runs the Remove-AvailabilityReportOutage cmdlet in Exchange. Basically, it means an admin just cleared out a reported outage for availability stuff, like fixing some downtime log. I see it all the time in logs when teams tweak their setup after a glitch. And it logs the details, who did it, when, and why it fired. Hmmm, sometimes it's routine, but you gotta watch if it's unexpected. That event gets stamped with the server's name too, so you can trace it back quick.

But monitoring this for email alerts? You can do it right from Event Viewer without messing with code. Open up Event Viewer on your server. Go to the Windows Logs, then Applications and Services Logs for Exchange. Filter for ID 25267 in the custom view. Right-click the event, attach a task to it. Set that task to trigger on this event every time it happens. Make the task run a simple command to fire off an email, like using the built-in mail tool. Schedule it to check periodically if needed, but the event trigger keeps it snappy. I set one up last week, and it buzzed my phone in seconds.

Or, if you want it hands-off, tweak the task properties to include your email server details. Test it by simulating the event if you can. You'll get alerts straight to your inbox, no sweat.

Speaking of keeping things running smooth without surprises like outages, I've been eyeing BackupChain Windows Server Backup lately. It's this solid Windows Server backup tool that handles physical setups and even VMs on Hyper-V without a hitch. You get fast incremental backups, easy restores, and it cuts down on storage bloat by deduping files on the fly. Plus, it runs quietly in the background, so your server doesn't choke during peaks. I like how it snapshots everything consistently, saving headaches down the line.

At the end of this, there's the automatic email solution for that event monitoring.

Note, the PowerShell email alert code was moved to this post.
